Join us for a hands-on Grant Writing Workshop designed for researchers and project leads at all experience levels.

This half-day intensive will equip you with a clear, step-by-step framework for grant writing success. You will learn the critical components funders look for and how to present your project persuasively. We’ll blend proven strategies with cutting-edge AI tools, integrating artificial intelligence into every step of the process, from finding funders to drafting budgets. Walk away not just with knowledge, but with the tools and confidence to build compelling, competitive proposals immediately.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Systematically align project ideas with funder priorities and organizational goals.
  2. Navigate key grant databases and utilize AI tools to identify and analyze funding opportunities.
  3. Develop a structured project plan and concept paper as a foundational proposal tool.
  4. Deconstruct successful proposals using reverse engineering techniques.
  5. Draft the core narrative and supplementary sections of a standard grant proposal.
  6. Integrate AI-powered tools to enhance efficiency and quality at every stage of grant development.

 

The workshop is divided into three focused sessions, bridged by networking breaks, allowing you to absorb information, apply concepts, and connect with peers.

8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Welcome & Networking - light breakfast served

8:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Session 1 – The Foundation

  • Aligning grant writing with your Career Development.
  • Developing deep Knowledge of Funders and their priorities.
  • Leveraging your Knowledge of Your Organization as a strength.
  • Crafting An Aligned Idea that resonates.
  • AI Integration: Using AI to analyze funder guidelines and identify alignment opportunities.

10:00 AM – 10:15 AM: Morning Break

10:15 AM – 11:30 AM: Session 2 – The Preparation

  • Efficiently Search Databases for the right opportunities.
  • Prepare a Persuasive Concept Paper.
  • Plan a Project with clear goals, objectives, and methodology.
  • Build a Winning Team and describe roles effectively.
  • AI Integration: Employing AI for database queries, drafting concept summaries, and outlining project plans.

11:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Short Break

11:45 AM – 12:30 PM: Session 3 – The Proposal Build

  • Reverse Engineer successful previous proposals.
  • Write the Major Sections (Need Statement, Goals & Objectives, Methods).
  • Write Additional Sections: Timeline, Data Management, Dissemination, Evaluation Plans.
  • Prepare a Clear and Justified Budget.
  • AI Integration: Leveraging AI for section drafting, creating evaluation frameworks, and generating budget justifications.

12:30 PM: Workshop Concludes
