the LDEO AI WG and the Organizing Committee are inviting you to join the first session on AI at Lamont. This will be a two-hour introductory session on artificial intelligence (AI) for the Lamont-Doherty community.
First AI Training Session (Class #1)
RSVP HERE
This event is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, including administrative staff, research support staff, scientists, students, and anyone curious about AI, regardless of prior experience. No technical background is required, and those with little or no familiarity with AI are especially encouraged to attend.
The goal of the session is to provide a clear, practical, and non-intimidating introduction to AI: what it is, what it is not, why it is receiving so much attention, and how it may become relevant to different kinds of work across Lamont-Doherty. The session will also offer space for questions, discussion, and reflection on opportunities, limitations, and responsible use and applications.
Whether you are simply curious about how AI may affect your work, looking for a starting point to engage with these tools more confidently, or somewhere in between, this session is for you.
We hope this session will help build a broader, shared understanding of AI across our community and create a welcoming space for learning together.
We look forward to seeing you at the event. A virtual link will be provided before the event.
