Colette Kelly

Colette is a chemical oceanographer working on the marine nitrogen cycle, with a focus on nitrous oxide. They earned their Ph.D. in Earth System Science at Stanford University, where they trained in isotope geochemistry and numerical modeling. Their current work uses machine learning and AI to quantify how chemical, physical, and biological processes shape the ocean's role as a mediator of global change. They are also a chief scientist and executive committee member for GO-SHIP, which runs research expeditions that are the observational backbone of ocean science. They are a member of the LEAP Center and the Data Science Institute. In their spare time, they "enjoy" running marathons and are a proud member of NYC's Central Park Track Club. CV
