Trash & Recycling
Place all office trash bins and office recyclables (clean and cardboard only) outside your door in the hallway and the cleaner will empty them.
The cleaners are not permitted to enter labs, so you must place your lab trash and recycling bins outside of the lab door.
Clean cans, bottles, and plastic containers (e.g., water bottles, soda cans, plastic take-out-style containers washed/rinsed of any food/beverage residue) should be placed in the green recycling bins located in hallways and kitchen areas.
Please do not put any broken glass into the recycling containers or trash containers. Put broken glass into the cardboard box that is specifically labeled “broken glass” that you will find in various locations throughout the hallways and in labs.
All food items are to be placed in the trash containers located in the hallways. Examples of trash include: paper coffee cups, Styrofoam cups/containers (even if they have a “recycle” symbol), plastic cups, plastic utensils, and food items.
Note: Other items placed out in the hallways will not be removed unless directed. Please place a note "Trash" on any such items. Items for disposal bearing a CUID Property Tag need to be approved for disposal by the Inventory Asset Coordinator, Lisa Connelly, [email protected].
Vacuuming & Cleaning
All offices are vacuumed once per month. For special cleaning of offices or labs or concerns such as spills, email [email protected].
