As one grows in their career, there is a focus on managing and mentoring. Oftentimes, the two words can be used interchangabeably. However, a mentor is not always a manager and there are different skillsets associated with managing and mentoring. This panel will explore the difference between the two and how they typically converge. The panel will feature researchers from within the Climate School discussing their experience managing people and teams, building their research group, and the difference between managing and mentoring.
