Yushu Xia

Dr. Yushu Xia's research is centered around soil health and natural climate solutions. Her overall research goal is to promote environmental sustainability, enhance ecosystem productivity and biodiversity, and mitigate climate change by improving soil health while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Her research leverages multi-scale datasets (e.g., field, lab, survey/literature, remote sensing) and modeling tools (both empirical and process-based) to improve the quantification of ecosystem services and ecosystem service outcomes, such as carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas emissions, water dynamics, and ecosystem productivity. Her previous work mainly focused on cropland and grassland ecosystems.
